Fixed My Tivo Roamio

After 7+ years I thought my Roamio had croaked. I tried changing the hard drive but no go. The original power adapter for whatever reason was allowing the Roamio to turn on but it wouldn't allow it to boot. I had read that getting an adapter that is 3a instead of 2a might do the trick so I tried it and all good.

Good quality replacement AC adapter

This replacement AC adapter for my laptop works perfectly in my machine. The quality is very good including heavy duty cords. However I would of preferred the length of the cords to be a bit longer. One has to be within a fairly short distance from a power outlet. Other than that, I am quite happy with it.

I bought it to replace my old power supply for an LED light strip in my room.
It had the same specs so I purchased it.
It was so hot it started emanating a burning plastic smell and started melting.
It was too hot to hold.
I used it for about 3 days before I noticed this.
This thing would have definitely set something on fire if I it was placed on something made of paper.

I purchased this to power my RGB lightstrip that I am installing around my electric fireplace. It's a very simple adapter, very light and does the job it's supposed to do.

Pros:
-Works correctly, good output current and voltage
-Lightweight and small
-Reliable power for a small cost

Cons:
-AC end is non-removable
-Cables are fairly short
-Overall feel and build quality is reflective of cheap cost.
